When compared with piano methods written in the 20th and 21st centuries, it appears more like a technique book than a piano method. This edition has been edited to be useful for today's piano students, either as a method (with teacher guidance) or as a supplementary book.

I really want to recommend this very nice piano 'method' book as a teacher. It has some very beautiful sounding pieces in it, 106 pieces, and a very educational set of 'technical exercises at the back of the book along with all of the 24 Major & Minor Scales printed out.

Over 2 octaves. The book starts out at the Elementary Level then very gradually progresses up to the Early Intermediate Level - this is very comfortable for students. All of the phrasing lines above and below the notes are in the very best Alfred Pub. Standards, the engraving of all of the notes is much better than any other edition of Beyer Op.101 ever written.

Best of all, the instructions are all in 'English', and it is very comprehensive throughout with many very instructive musical detailed musicology notes on the 'theory' as one progresses through the book with many Teacher-Pupil duets! 3 of 3 people found this review helpful.
