Do you need the IMSL libraries? If not, you can save a lot of money. The current pricing for Intel Visual Fortran Standard Edition is $499 (suggested retail). For the Professional Edition (adds IMSL) it's $1399. These require the additional purchase of Microsoft Visual Studio 2005 Standard Edition (or a higher edition), unless you don't mind doing all development from the command line, in which case you can get a free MS package which will enable that.
