Ps3 Service Mode Jig Files - Download Free Apps
However, if you see the console is in low res and controller is not syncing until plugged in, then the unit is in factory mode. Now unplug the JIG and power down the console normally. Format a thumb drive to fat32 and make sure only lv2diag.self from the lv2diag 1 folder and ps3updat.pup are in the root of. CrashSerious releases FactoryServiceMode Tool v0.1. With this application, Jailbroken PS3 Consoles no longer need the assistance of a JIG device in order to get into.
No amount of hacking will ever reveal the PS3's 'Master Key' because that key doesn't exist in the consoles themselves. Sony, like MS, uses a public-private key encryption scheme: a private key is used to encrypt content which can be only decrypted by the public key. The public key cannot encrypt and can't be used to figure out the private key. PS3 units only have the public key, while the private key resides deep inside Sony's facilities. Not even developers get to see it: finished games are sent to Sony, where they are encrypted before being pressed or published on PSN.
The last instance of a Master Key leakage was the Wii: the key used to decrypt was the same used to encrypt, and it was laying around in RAM for hackers to find. Some people reporting that if you downgrade from 3.50 to 3.41, then upgrade back to 3.5, the Blu-Ray playback doesn't work. I've been following the scene for a little while now, and I still haven't decided if I should jailbreak or not. I really want an option for a region free playback of Blu-Rays and DVDs.
Maybe the option for MKV playback. I really like the option of installing games to my 1TB external HDD and running them from there in order to save the laser on the PS3. I have an 80GB system, and my 360 just died and is out of warranty, so I cannot afford to replace it. But I am petrified that if I start using the PS3 the way I was my 360 that it too will fail on me. Then I'll have nothing since the PS3 is out of warranty too.

The debug firmware is copyright by Sony and if the 'scene' is seen to be using it, shit will hit the fan. Having said that, if it allows you to run unsigned code without a jig, I'm sure people will break it apart and create a perfectly legal CFW. Originally Posted by LovingSteam How will it hit the fan? Means that Sony can't shut down websites distributing this software because it doesn't contain any of their code. Just have a look at the 360 (and original Xbox) homebrew scene.
You have to jump through a fuckload of hoops to find software (home-made or otherwise) to use because the only compiler is the XDK which is illegal for anyone other than approved developers to own and distribute products compiled from it. Close down one website, it pops up on another. Whether its newsgroups or torrents, there is nothing they can do.
Not saying that is good or bad, just making the point. Not saying that is good or bad, just making the point.Yeah, but traditional homebrew/news sites (like psx-scene.com, psgroove.com etc.) can't distribute those files compiled with the official SDK at all.
Any of those sites that thousands of people go to for their news would be shut down if they're found on there (I've seen several apps removed from psx-scene for that very reason). If not there, then it drives them to be distributed on illegal sites where there's an even smaller audience. An open SDK means that literally anyone can collaborate and contribute to the scene legally on sites like Sourceforge and homebrew forums, opening up the possibilities rather than restricting it to people who are willing to break the law (in the eyes of Sony). You *may* be able to use someone else's flash files from exactly the same PS3 (slim/phat, die size etc.) if they haven't upgraded but I'm not positive. Best not to do *anything*, keep an eye on PSX-Scene.com. There's a lot of dickhead comments on there, but the news in general is pretty solid. It was never right that they gave us a system with so many restrictions. I want my region free ps2 backwards compatibility because I own so many Japanese RPGs. Once they crack PSN, we won't even have to worry about losing online play. I also heard there are some wicked exploits for COD which can only be enabled with a jailbroken PS3. My buddies better watch out once I have those kind of perks. Wait, I've only just installed 3.55.
You mean there's another update I need to do. What is this bullshit Sony, firmware updates every week now.
That is cool.Wow. Why aren't you banned yet?

That will never change.
I would like to downgrade my console, (3.50 ->3.41). But I did not understand what steps I should do. So here it is 1. Download the attached file.
Extract it and do not bother reading the readme file. Uninstall any psfreedom(0.6 or other) from your n900. Plug in your USB cable, choose Mass storage mode and copy the 3 files in the zip file to the root of mass storage.
Go to app manager and download rootsh 6. Unplug USB cable 7. Launch x terminal and type sudo gainroot cd MyDocs sh psfreedom-enable-maemo.sh 8.
Plug in USB cable and connect to ps3 9. Remove power cord, reconnect it and press power and immediately eject here u r. So here it is 1. Download the attached file. Extract it and do not bother reading the readme file.

Is that all i need to do to downgrade or this is just first step? Does Blue-Ray work after this? Is that all i need to do to downgrade or this is just first step? Downgrading your PS3 console MAY in SOME cases STOP you from watching any Blu-Ray movies! (Games still work!) It's just first step, this script turn console into factory mode. Turn console into factory mode as written above.
You will see red rectangle in right down corner on tv. Load any blank FAT32 USB flash drive device with 2 files in the root directory: -1. Modified 3.41 PUP -2. Lv2Diag.self (File 1) 3. These must be the only files on the USB key and must be placed in the main (root) directory. Insert flash drive into the last USB port to the right — the first USB port in from the right side if you’re facing the console.
Turn the PS3 on and you will see black screen but the PS3 HDD light will flash. The process takes 3-4 minutes for the system to install the old firmware. Towards the end, the power button on the console will start flashing green and then your console will power off.
Remove the flash drive and turn on the console, you will still be in Factory Service Mode. Please verify you have downgraded successfully to version 3.41 by going to 'System Information'. (Optional) – If you wish to downgrade to any older firmware you can follow step 1,2 using any regular firmware PUP. (You do not need to use modified custom firmware now that you are on 3.41). Insert USB flash drive back into your PC and delete the PUP and Lv2Diag.self file (File 1) and copy the other Lv2Diag.self (File 2) to the root of the flash drive.
Insert USB flash drive back into the same USB port on the PS3 and power on your PS3. After 10 seconds it will power off.
Remove USB flash drive and turn on your console again. You will be out of factory service mode and back in retail mode with your chosen firmware version installed. You will need to go through setting up settings configuration. Link for downgrade files (Lv2Diag.self file (File 1,2) and Modified 3.41 PUP).

Do you mean there is no option to install packages on the ps3 when in service mode?? If so then that is ment to happen, service mode is used for downgrading NOT jailbreaking no there is no option like that. I know, i've got 2 ps3 here, one with 3.5, one with 3.41. When i tried jb the 3.41 ps3 i downloaded the psfreedom0.6 from application manager.
But it turns in service mode, not in jb mode. The led is green, so it shows it worked, but its like i want to downgrade it like the other one. I've deleted the files from mydocs and also thr files from the /root directory.(or do i have to put the 3files in there again to run the psfreedom0.6 fom app manager)? So here it is 1. Download the attached file.
Extract it and do not bother reading the readme file. Uninstall any psfreedom(0.6 or other) from your n900. Plug in USB cable and connect to ps3 9. Remove power cord, reconnect it and press power and immediately eject here u r So this brings the PS3 (3.50) in service mode?? But that kernel of the Nokia N900? So here it is 1. Download the attached file.

Remove power cord, reconnect it and press power and immediately eject here u r Sorry, what kernel version is used? I?m getting a dingoo for christmas. Is there different types of dingoo?
Do I need a specific one?I?m still sitting on the 3.41, does it work only from 3.41 or can I update to 3.50 while I wait?Sorry for all the questions, but I?m new with this. PSFreedom JIG Dingoo v1.0 Description: 'PSFreedom JIG' for Dingoo is a special version of 'PSFreedom' created to behave as the JIG device. Thanks to this any user can enable the factory/service mode in his PS3. Its work on 3.50 u can download it from here http://www.megaupload.com/?d=J8QWDP11. Dingoo is a game handheld device that can also jailbrake the ps3. I don't have a phone or other device to jailbrake at the moment. I know dingoo also has downgrade support, of why I ask if I could update.
Maybe the downgrade only works if one is still on 3.41, I don't know. Just wondering why of all places to go to ask this question do you come here? This is a forum dedicated to the maemo operating system! There are many forums dedicated to jailbreaking the ps3 and yet you come here to ask. Kinda funny dont you think? But anyway, will the downgrade work with any firmware, or only if I remain on 3.41?
I'm still on 3.41, but no jailbreak since I have nothing that can do the job. Thats the most important answer I'm looking for, since I would love to use netflix stream again, and I don't have a PC, I go to the library for that.
The downgrade will work on 3.50 but not 3.55(the latest) I think netflix will work with 3.50, but if you update from the ps3 then you will go to firmware 3.55 so you'll have to download the the update and install via usb. Any idea to spoofing 3.55??? Like ps3yes team ps3yes team released 3.55 spoof There is no need to spoof 3.55 it will give you no advantage Hi, first of all wanted to say that my English is a little bad, my query looks like this, if someone could explain a link with a tutorial on how to downgrade the ps3 by using psfreedom 3.50 to 3.41.
Thank you very much Greetings This is the best tutorial so far but you have to look at this first This is the tutorial http://talk.maemo.org/showpost.php?p=893844&postcount=793. I'm trying to install PSFreedom on my old N900 which can no longer connect to the internet through wifi or 3g for my brother as part of his xmas present. I downloaded the.deb file on my computer and transferred it over but it would not install in App Manager as it said it had missing dependencies (alphathemefix and mceledpattern). I downloaded the.deb for these two dependencies but it would not let me install them as it said incompatible application package. Does anyone have any idea how I can get around this to install it please? Hey lightning just follow ip4u and xatetb instruction on page 80. It works smooth, just downgraded 3.50 to 3.41 my ps3 cech-2004a using my nokia n900.
After that, use psfreedom to jailbreak the console. Hi, thanks for your reply. I tried the package provided by lp4u from the last post on page 79.
However, it seems that it's not compatible with my N800. I got some error message when I run the psfreedom-enable script as such: line 8: initctl: not found insmod: cannot insert 'psfreedom.ko': invalid module format (-1): Exec format error. What should i do now? Hey guys, I know GT5 is now working on 3.41. But I couldn't define which payload to use. I tried with the stock psfreedom (both hermes and PL3).
None of them is working. Does anyone have an idea?
Which backup manager do you use? I tried with Both multiman and Gaia.
Thx Hi all, I'm just following this thread, already did the downgrade from 3.50 to 3.41 using instructions on previous pages. Right now I'm using PSFreedom 0.6 downloaded from extra-devel to Jailbreak the PS3 by Nokia N900. So, I would like to know how can I change the payload used by PSFreedom 0.6? As stock one isn't working (mentioned above by iceduke) with GT5. Stock PSFreedom uses PL3 and Hermes v4b right? Do they have 3.55 spoof?
Maybe some other user also has the same doubt. Thanks in advance!! Hi all, I'm just following this thread, already did the downgrade from 3.50 to 3.41 using instructions on previous pages. What you need to do is use the decrypted eboot.bin (and rebuilt for 3.41) for the game to work. Search in google.;).
Again why do you want a 3.55 spoof, the 3.50 spoof should allow you to do whatever you want. If you really want the 3.55 spoof try a payload thats already been compiled for android. Thax and for response ur question. To play all the new games (that works in 3.50 GT5, RDR undead nightmare and others) is necessary modify the 'eboot's' some people have a lot of troubles to run that games and to improve the compatibility the use of a new payload (hermes v4b+spoof 3.55 or PL3+spoof 3.55) is indispensable to make proves, always its better works with the most update tools, nobody can prove right now if the spoofing in 3.55 have influence in the new games, like a 'spoof 3.50' was in Assassin's Creed Brotherhood or others. That is the reason. Where did you put the psn350payload.bin file its in documents in file manger but when i type in x terminal it can't open You don't need the 3.50 spoof to play GT5 or NFS-HP, just the regular psfreedom payload.
Get the respective eboot.bin's from HERE ((decrypted) and overwrite the ones in PS3_GAME/USRDIR folder. In psfreedom 0.6 use the hermes payload. I'm using multiMAN and haven't tried other backup managers but I think it doesn't matter what backup manager you are using. You don't need the 3.50 spoof to play GT5 or NFS-HP, just the regular psfreedom payload. Get the respective eboot.bin's from HERE ((decrypted) and overwrite the ones in PS3_GAME/USRDIR folder..
And if you read what you linked here, it says: 'Gran Turismo 5 ver1.00 PAYLOAD: some user here report to me that GT5 works better with PL3 3.55 than it does with V4B 3.55 (In my case, NFS:HP has a eboot.bin for 3.41 and thus works without spoofing. However, GT5 asks for a system update and exits if you decline. So we need 3.50 spoofing. Probably it's enough to just download this (unpack and replace the files in /opt/psfreedom/payloads/ on your N900 Could someone try that out? Busy with NFS right now.:). And I'll say it AGAIN, I'm using the regular hermes payload in psfreedom 0.6. No spoofing, plain psfreedom 0.6 hermes payload used in 3.41 fat 60GB PS3. I can post a video if you don't believe me. Here's the eboot.bin I used: GT5 (Before running GT5 make sure there's no game data and of course do not choose 'OK' when it offers to install the game update. Same error 80028F14 with backup manager 2 Are you sure the eboot.bin you copy over is in the specific game folder (BLES-00949 for NFS)?
//dev_hdd0/game/LAUN12345/GAMEZ/BLES-00949/PS3_GAME/USRDIR/EBOOT.BIN I think you just tried too much. Delete the game from PS3 menu and hardrive.
Copy over a fresh unmodified backup of NFS. Copy over the eboot.bin. Make sure it is the eboot.bin in the nfs (BLES-00949) folder! Start Backupman2.
Press X on the NFS title. In the XMB, click of PS3game. Works for me. Can you tell me when you patch with multiman does anything change on screen when i press R1 to patch its as if multiman just scans hardrive and just puts me back to top of my games list as if i had just started it again i dont think its patching i have tried nfs hp,family game night 3 and splatterhouse none work i have changed eboots Dont use patch mode, just run the game from multiman latest version it works. Do one thing start from scratch download the required eboot replace it in the NFS HP JB your PS3 through Hermes copy the game through gaia manager open Multiman(latest Version) start game- no need to pressR1(start normally) Mine works without disc. That's hermes 3.55 spoofing and it just says 'better'. It doesn't say V4B 3.55 doesn't work.

Works for me. Done what you said works fine thank you. Badaman, before transferring the game to your internal drive download the eboot.bin file from the link I gave in my earlier post then copy it into PS3_GAME/USRDIR folder. Just overwrite the one that's already there. Use multiman backup manager and load the game. First time, it will ask you if you want to patch PARAM.SFO, just select YES and you should be able to play GT5. Thanks for the replay mandog.
I think I did that bar one thing. 1) Transferred via FTP using blackbox 2) Once copied I overwrote the EBOOT bin with the USA version from PSX scene 3) Used multiman to boot game from manager. Answered yes to patch the game 4) Black screen!!? I was using hermes and not PL3. I also transferred the EBOOT after FTping the folder. Could this be my problem? I also want to downgrade using my N900, but I'm having a hard time getting my 60GB Fat with 3.55 in service mode.
I'v got the latest PSFreedom from extras-devel. Connect my N900 to the right USB-port on my PS3 (there are four on the front and I choose the one that's closest to the blu-ray drive). On my N900 I start PSFreedom, select JIG-mode and start PL3 Jailbreak. The led turns red, now I completely turn off my PS3 with power switch on the back. Then I turn on the PS3 with the power switch on the back and I press the power-button quickly followed by the eject-button.
Nothing happens, the led will stay red and the N900 will prompt for mass-storage or pc-suite mode when the PS3 starts. Then the PS3 enters the main-menu on the dashboard.
No service mode on the fat ps3? I am using Kmeaw's one. Note that I do NOT take any responsibility for anything you do to your PS3, and you should really know what you're doing because you can brick it otherwise! Thank you for your concern, i'll check if my device is compatible first for sure then i'll look around for bugs and errors from ppl already done it then ill try doing it, wont be nice to brick 500$. Thank you again:).
Trying to do my first jailbreak on a 60gb ps3 running 3.30, that doesn't have a bluray drive connected. I'm using psfreedom on my n900 which should just be plug and play all i have to do is turn ps3 off at switch turn on ps3 press power then eject within 0.2 sec and it should install hermes 3.41 or pl3 depending on my selection but it just has a green light on the ps3 and nothing else happens, the light is red on the phone and the mass storage screen comes up.
I left it over 10mins and nothing happens. @MohammadAG: I have only a litte problem, as I have running the power46-wl1 kernel (bleeding edge one, not the normal power46) and PSFreedom can't find the module, which I think is dynamicly linked after clicking pl3-/hermes-button. I tried to add a folder power46-wl1 in each module, but I think it is hardcoded omap1 / power46.
Any chance to get the sources or to make it support different modulefolders? I am still unsing 3.41 on my PS3, and most time I need PSfreedom for updating my showtime builds. Edit: OK, I can run insmod on my own for loding one of the power46 modules and your tool recognizes it and is using it without problems, so there is a workaround available for me. @meShell Just wondering how did you workaround your kernel version in order to make psfreedom to work. I'm currently using power49 and as you mentioned MAG's psfreedom has links harcoded, so even renaming folders wouldnt help much.I would appreciate your feedback:) thanx @MohammadAG: I have only a litte problem, as I have running the power46-wl1 kernel (bleeding edge one, not the normal power46) and PSFreedom can't find the module, which I think is dynamicly linked after clicking pl3-/hermes-button.
