Born during the Great Depression to a barber and a homemaker in Albany, New York, David?s prospects were not very bright. However, his parents, who immigrated from Russia and Austria shortly after World War I, instilled in him the belief that you could do anything you wanted, as long as you did the work needed to prepare for it. He left high school before graduating to work and bring in a little extra income to help out the family. This was his first balancing act: finish high school or help the family. It wasn?t a lot of money, but it helped stretch the family budget a bit, and taught him valuable lessons about doing every job as well as he could and always trying to do better. David, it turns out, was an excellent salesman, regularly winning bonuses and recognition for tripling and quadrupling a department?s sales.
Whenever he needed to put bread on the table or a roof over his head, David could always get a job as a salesman. He was very good at it, but was not particularly passionate about sales. As a teenager, David enjoyed participating in all sports and started developing a love of physical fitness, reveling in what he could get his body to do? And enjoying the cheers of the crowd when he made a great play. It was while learning and practicing diving and some basic gymnastics at a local park with a pool that he started becoming aware of the strength and gratification he received from cheers and applause, especially from the attractive girls. When the Ringling Brothers, Barnum & Bailey Circus was came to town and he saw Ove Unus? The Talk of the Universe?
Perform a one-finger handstand and heard the thunderous applause, David knew that was what he passionately wanted to do? Perform acrobatics for live audiences! How To Install Mac Os X On Dell Xps 15. He taught himself the art, building up the necessary physical and mental skills, watching others perform, and studying pictures of acts to figure out how to do them. Along the way he recruited others to join him, met and became friends with other performers, first in the Albany area and then at Muscle Beach, California, and around the Western Hemisphere. David performed with many circuses around the United States and Canada.
In 1976 he joined the Harlem Globetrotters for a five month tour of the United States, Canada, and South America, performing his acrobatic and plate-spinning acts during half time. During one show in South America, he had a major fall which left him nearly paralyzed from his waist down.
In only five weeks, he rehabilitated himself and rejoined the tour. He continued performing acrobatics? And selling shoes and fitness equipment as needed to put bread on the table? For another twenty years.
In his seventies, he retired from acrobatics and tried retiring, but couldn?t stand the quiet, so he re-invented himself as a stand-up comedian. The mental and physical preparation for appearing before an audience and the applause for a performance well done are as essential to David?s well-being as having blood pump through his veins. Without the former, the latter is of little importance. Ultimately the story is about balancing one?s inner passions that define personal success against society?s measures of success. The Universal Religion: The Final Destiny of Mankind Author Bio: Christopher Alan Anderson (1950 - ) received the basis of his education from the University of Science and Philosophy, Swannanoa, Waynesboro, Virginia. He resides in the transcendental/romantic tradition, that vein of spiritual creativity of the philosopher and poet. His quest has been to define and express an eternal romantic reality from which a man and a woman could together stand in their difference and create a living universe of procreative love. Anderson began these writings in 1971.
The first writings were published in 1985. On a personal note, when Mr. Anderson was asked to describe the writings and what he felt their message was he responded, 'Spiritual procreation. Mankind has yet to distinguish the two sexes on the spiritual level. In this failure lies the root of our problems and why we cannot yet touch the eternal together.
The message of man and woman balance brings each of us together in love with our eternal other half right now.' Keywords: Religion, Destiny, Universal Construct, Balance, Metaphysics, Love.

'The Amazing Kreskin' is a scientist of the mind, relying on natural and scientific means to perform effects that have baffled millions around the world. 'Natural laws govern the working of the mind,' he says. 'Those who do not understand the laws usually label mental phenomena as supernatural or extrasensory. In fact, few of us have tapped more than a fraction of our mental potential.' In this book, he reveals how readers can use their latent mental abilities to enhance the ordinary senses to accomplish effects that resemble telepathy and clairvoyance. Kreskin insists that there is nothing supernatural about any of these effects, and he redefines ESP as 'extremely sensitive perception' to remove all connotation of the 'other world' from this completely natural ability.

Kreskin explains how to heighten awareness, increase powers of concentration, discover unknown strengths, tap the power of the unconscious, employ the power of illusion, utilize the power of suggestion, control attitudes and behavior, use silent communication, and predict with educated guesses. He also offers tips on how to hear whispers in a crowded room; 'predict' news stories weeks in advance; 'read thoughts' in the minds of complete strangers; influence others' attitudes and actions; produce 'hypnotic' effects without 'hypnosis'; become a human lie detector; and locate lost objects. Readers will be amazed and amused by what Kreskin can teach them about their own potential.
Though it wasn't quite what I expected, this was an entertaining read. I've long been fascinated with the abilities of mentalists. I was a little disappointed to find out that Kreskin believes (or at least claims to believe) that his greatest abilities are not rote tricks at all.
Instead, he spends the majority of the book explaining his techniques for meditation and concentration, which he claims will imbue the reader with the same heightened abilities he himself has. I don't believe Kreskin is giving away all his secrets in this book.
But I did finish the book feeling convinced that a person could read it and have a fighting chance performing some of the exercises. Apparently, natural ability will be a very large factor. Far more than the usual fail-safe tricks I'm used to reading in books. Thankfully, there are some easy (and nearly fail-safe) tricks which even a dolt could perform with a little practice. I tried a coin guessing trick from early in the book and it worked wonderfully.
So I'm happy.
