Install Windows 7 On Hp Envy Touchsmart
I have come across this problem before. Our HP Z420 did the same thing. What I did to resolve it was: 1 - Download Intel Rapid Storage Technology Enterprise Utility and Driver 2 - Run it so it will expand its files. Find the folder 3 - Copy the folder 'RSTe_f6_iaStorA' on a USB stick. 4 - During Windows 7 installation, when required to get the CD/DVD - plug in the USB and navigate to that folder and load it.
Download and Update HP ENVY TouchSmart Ultrabook 4-1195ca Drivers for your Windows XP, Vista, 7, 8 and 10 32 bit and 64 bit. Here you can download HP ENVY TouchSmart.
That is not a Microsoft problem, it's HP being HP - making your life hard. That should work I hope. Ilya Efimov TC Electric Guitar Strum KONTAKT. I have come across this problem before.

That should work I hope. Cheers I sure will try this. Well to be honest if you used a hard drive out of another system did you format it? And if so what interface type was selected in the bios.
You see Before you begin to try to install windows you will likely need to pre load a sata driver for the Sata chipset. You can do this if you have a driver disk. And before you press install windows. Look to the left where in blue writing it says load driver. Once your done the install should start, with no problems. The only other way around it if you can is go into the bios and change the setting from Sata mode. To Ahci mode.
Then you will not get the error also. When exactly is this message popping up?
Can you get into the Windows installation GUI? Does the USB/DVD image boot at all? Scheda Elettronica Faac 844 MPSP. Have you read this thread on the M$FT forum? The installer boots and when I actually start the installation, I get this message. I am thinking the cd/dvd driver message is a bit misleading. It probably needs a sata driver to detect the hard drive because this message comes up right when you are supposed to chose the location/partition to install to.
That would make sense if you were only using a USB stick but you did mention that you tried a DVD install disc as well? If they both work then that means your SATA drivers are working properly. Also, your other question about installing it on another machine then swapping it into the laptop before the drivers install, that most likely will not work unless the other machine is also the same exact laptop. And what Shaun o is saying might do something but it isn't 'SATA mode' it is actually 'IDE mode' or AHCI. Also, make sure that there isn't a recovery partition on your HDD. Most laptop makers now include this instead of an install disc.
There is a certain sequence of buttons that you need to hit at a certain time to boot the laptop into the recovery partition. Check this post out on the HP help site about accessing the recovery partition. I am having trouble locating the exact chipset for this model. The SATA driver is the issue and Shneiky, you are correct I believe. Just different chipset version. Does anyone know exactly which chipset the TouchSmart 14 Sleekbook has? I have been looking everywhere on HP site and elsewhere.
There might be different versions of this model. You need to look for the exact model number. For example, is the 14-b109wm and is the 15-b150us because one is Intel and the other is AMD. It should be on a sticker somewhere on the bottom near the battery. Or, check the box it came in. I am having trouble locating the exact chipset for this model. I have already typed the product ID in HP's support site but they do not tell me what the Intel chipset number is.
If I had that I think I would have this issues resolved. I am having trouble locating the exact chipset for this model.

Try typing it here and we'll see what happens. I had this similar problem with installing windows 7 64bit on my hp sleek-book, the way i got around this was to remove the hard drive and installed the os in an old hp I had liming around. The trick I used was after the expansion of the windows files and the system asked to restart i removed the hard drive and placed it back into my sleek book and finished the installation in there and it worked fine. The only problem i had after was i could not get the lan drivers installed but i just left it because I never used it.
